She has been good at giving me more information about HF. The rest of the things that the cardiac rehab, they have a nurse who does intake and I asked her about support. And she said, oh, no, they don’t have anything. They used to have a social worker. Now they’re told that if someone is distressed, they should refer them to the Canadian Mental Health Association. And in our region, that would be ludicrous. The Canadian Mental Health Association is overwhelmed with people with serious mental illness and addictions. so the kinesiologist, she’s answered a lot of questions and given me advice on not exerting in the cold, not exerting when it’s extremely hot. What the effects of some of the medications are having, the side effects and exercising. And she’s continued to meet with me every couple of weeks. Everything’s by phone. And she’s very encouraging about each little step that I’ve made of improvements in my physical abilities.
